Music and rhythm is an integral part of every company, every team, every project.
Organizations flourish and succeed through teamwork. However, every individual brings their unique sounds into the mix. So making a team perform as a great orchestra requires the leadership to act in a way that allows the diversity of the team to create its new rhythm.
Every music has a bass note, the foundation of the music. This is the core of why a team comes together. The common purpose, the common goal, the common mission. This is the base music of the team. Then you layer the individual music of each team member. The tone! When each individual plays his/her tone with passion and aligns to the bass of the music, beautiful orchestra is created. We as a team, as a company, as an organization need to learn both.
As leaders we need to learn how to align everyone around the bass but let individual tone flourish. Leaders also need to know when to play and when not to play. When to play a solo, or when to follow someone’s lead.
Play on my friends, play on!!!
